Either way, we are considering taking 2 weeks of the Spanish II level, so that we still have some time to relax and explore, and are not taking classes up until the day we head back to Estados Unidos. However, we would both like to spend as much time studying as possible. We shall see.
AND, I have a special little treat for you all. I usually dont put pics in the blog, but this one is a must. In the name of blogging, I asked our crazy teacher if we could get an end-of-year photo with her and naturally, she was all about it. Unfortunately, Ab and I both looked a little scary in the shot (keep in mind the heat and humidity and the fact that most of our things are in storage 10K miles away) so i cut us out, and you cant see the 2 best features of Silvia, our profesora (her chipped, blood-red, polished toes hanging off the front of her cork & bejeweled platform sandals and her extremely ill-fitting bra that has caused her to have a terrible hunchback - dont even get me started on this one!) but here goes anyways.
Enjoy!

While I cannot say that I know what you mean about the bra, I can easily imagine her in her shoes and the rest of the picture does: hat and sash and all.
ReplyDeleteThat said, how time flied! It is truly crazy, huh? Here as well. Next week brings the next vacation at its close. And then after a week of nothing (travels, friends, carnival) comes five more weeks of school, which ends with two weeks of vacation for Easter. And what then? Three weeks of class and that is it. Considering that I see each class only once every two weeks that is four more time. And some of them I will be seeing for the first time! But hey. What that means is: time to start thinking about employment before school starts for me again. Finally going back. Do you ever think about that, now that you know a little more about yourself? Do you know what will happen?
I feel like uncertainty defined the modern life. You could say it always has but then again, hunger was not as uncertain - it was just the facts for long periods. So, yes. Modern life.
The bra thing is a huge issue here. I wish I could hold info sessions and fittings all over the city to help women figure out the right bra size. Its shocking to me!
ReplyDeleteCan you even believe how fast time has flown? My goodness. I'm not ready to come back to reality. At this point, I am trying not to think about it too much and focus on enjoying our time here, but to be honest, its like a dark cloud. I have been thinking a lot, and have a few viable options on the table for deliberation. But to answer your question, no, I have no idea what will happen!
You're right. I think one of the reasons uncertainty is so prevalent is because there are so many options. If there was one kind of peanut butter on the shelves, you would buy it or not, no questions asked, but because there are 30 kinds, of every variety, we can stand there for an hour just debating the pros and cons of each. Of course, having some idea about yourself helps. "I prefer smooth PB to chunky" or "I only eat organic PB." But then it comes down to, the organic is too expensive or they ran out of the natural one, should I get the smooth processed one in the meantime? Or go without? Anyways...you get the point (I hope). Uncertainty, here we come!
